Wheel refinishing is a true art form. It requires an artistic vision to execute a spotless coated-clear or matte finish, and a keen eye to spot—and fix—imperfections. The best part about the process, is that any one can give an artistic-grade shine to their rims with our cost-effective wheel refinishing.
The Wheel Refinishing Process
The wheel refinishing process involves a number of steps to turn your lackluster wheels into shiny, brand-spankin’-new-looking rims:
Step 1: Blasting
First your wheels are gently blasted (by hand) in order to remove all dirt and old layers of lacquer and paint. If your wheels have been ‘well-used’ and are beyond what a gentle blasting can accomplish then we’ll need to use a heavy-duty chemical stripping initially—and then blast them. Once all the superfluous layers and products are removed the wheels’ surface will be smooth enough to add a perfectly-smooth finish.
Step 2: Prep Work
Next, we prep the wheels by dressing them and filling in any damage or imperfections in the wheels visible surface area (it’s face and edges).
Note: Only mild imperfections and slight dents can be filled in. Major dents may have experienced structural damage, in which case we cannot—and will not—refinish them for safety reasons. To guide you through this process we’ll assess any major issues on intake.
Step 3: Finishing
Now that the wheels are clean and perfect we begin with the finishing process by adding a powder-coat finish. After that coat has fully dried we add any specialized paint and/or laquer, and a thermal treatment.
Step 4: Set
The final step is to return the wheels to you or place them on your car. Your rims are now ready to face the world, with the protective finish they need to stand up to sun rays, road salts, moisture and other environmental damage.
